The story of Christopher Designs begins in Poland, where founder Christopher Slowinski apprenticed under master jewelry craftsmen. Since the company’s inception in 1981, Slowinski’s ingenuity has continued to defy the norm and set new expectations on the industry. After debuting his Crisscut diamond to critical acclaim, Slowinski shocked the world by creating a cut one step up, the L’Amour Crisscut.
While both are takes on the generic emerald cut, the L’amour Crisscut features 50 facets with two straight sides and delicate curves that create a brilliance unmatched by any another cut. Its elegance can be seen here with this 14k white Gold Three Sided Engagement Ring. Around the stunning diamond is a glimmering halo of twelve round cut diamonds, adding a lovely geometric contrast.
Along the band, a number of crisscut diamonds are horizontally lined in a channel setting, giving off the appearance of a large continuous diamond. For added flair, Slowinski has decided to line the profile of the band with diamonds in a pave setting, making all three sides of this engagement ring glimmer brilliantly in the light. In this ring, you can truly see the versatility and options in jewelry design, as Slowinksi has creatively managed to combine a number of settings into one cohesive and luxurious ring.
From the design team behind the world renowned New York City based jewelers Gabriel & Co. comes an engagement ring she’ll never want to take off. For over 30 years, brothers Jack and Dominick Gabriel have been crafting psych amazing award winning designs that it’s easy to spot the genius in their work. In this 14k Two Tone Gold Contemporary Engagement Ring, the designers play with color to create something that is truly unique.
While the round cut center stone is held in a traditional four prong setting, the shank, here, is anything but traditional. Following the fashion of a criss cross ring, the shank splits almost as soon as it begins, crosses over in the middle and again at the top beside the center stone, forming two loops on both sides. While both are studded with diamonds in a scallop setting, the two shanks are different in color, with one being rose gold and the other being white.
As they criss cross and form a fishtail shape on the end of both sides, the eye is guided inwards as the center stone is put into a framed focus. On the profile we see the the color changing swirl effect as the two twist in and out of each other. For added ornamentation, the ring also features an elegant hidden halo.
